The state and accredited training sources no longer require a physical training book for members attending classes.
As our stock of 5th edition Basic and Advanced books have been quickly reaching their ends this year, we looked into getting new books printed (as the last time we did was back in 2018-2019).
Unfortunately the lowest prices we were quoted would still require us to increase pricing of the books to at least $40 per book for Basic, and $60-70 per book for advanced to still retain some level of profit to re-use for ordering new books.
Needless to say that is both an immense expense both for us to order them to stock (as we generally order hundreds at once), as well as those of you ordering them as volunteer stations.
As such, since the state no longer requires them, though we are aware instructors still recommend them, we had a meeting on whether to order new books or not, and it was voted that we would discontinue selling the 5th edition books once they run out.
If we can receive permission to do so, we will try to provide an online PDF version of the books here for people to download at least, so they can have a digital version handy.
We do still have a notable stock of the old 4th and earlier editions of several old training books for those who still want them, as those seem to have gained some new interest and popularity the past year.
